Italian American Experience Series: Finding the Motherlode
The film Finding the Motherlode: Italian Immigrants in California, examines how economic and social mobility became possible for many Italians in the Golden State, through stories set in seven Italian communities throughout California. It is also a look at how immigrant identity is maintained and transformed as immigrants become assimilated into mainstream America. This film is the second in the series of three Italian American Experience Series events presented by the Hofstra Cultural Center this semester.
