A Vibrant Perspective exhibition
This is the final day to view this new exhibition in Hagedorn Hall featuring beautiful photography taken by a graduate student during a study abroad Mediterranean Cruise, sponsored by Hofstra University’s School of Education. A Vibrant Perspective by Maggie Hoera Tittler will be on display from December 3-18, 2013 in the Cyber Café, located on the first floor.
Tittler, a Garden City resident who is a 5th grade teacher at the Washington Street School in Franklin Square, is currently pursuing an M.A. at Hofstra in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Studies. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is passionate about photography. During the summer 2013 study abroad cruise to Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey, Tittler took hundreds of photos, and many of these will be featured in the exhibition. The study abroad opportunity was directed by Drs. Esther Fusco, chair, Department of Teaching, Literacy and Leadership, and Susan G. Zwirn, graduate director and associate professor of art education.
In her artist’s statement, Tittler writes, “I find photography and education to share similarities. We are always given different subjects that may look best when seen in a different light. If you are willing to develop new perspectives, then you are one step closer to capturing a beautiful and sometimes life changing moment in time.”
Hagedorn Hall, home to Hofstra University’s School of Education, is located on the far southeast side of the campus.
Viewing hours: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday - Friday in Hagedorn Hall's Cyber Café, located on the first floor.
