The Hofstra Music Department presents the first Oboe Day!, made possible by a generous grant from the D’Addario Foundation. Open to all ages and levels, activities will include mini-lessons, master classes, in-depth reed making clinics, a hands-on Oboe Repair Clinic with Master Repair Person Heidi Wolfgang, The Hofstra Double Reed Ensemble and an Oboe Orchestra for all participants.
A slender woodwind instrument with a conical bore and a double-reed mouthpiece, having a range of three octaves and a penetrating, poignant sound.
