Music: The Voice of the People Comments
From Verdi to Weill to Bernstein, from the campaign trail to the concert stage to Broadway, music has carried political messages both hidden and overt. Join Hofstra University music faculty -- Marilyn Lehman, Chandler Carter, and David Fryling -- and guest artists -- cellist Laurinel Owen, baritone Andrew DiMartino and soprano Karen Lehman DiMartino and the Hofstra Chamber Singers -- for an evening of political music of the past and present.
Fee: $10 general public, $7 senior citizen (over 65) or PEIR member with HofstraCard. One free ticket for Hofstra faculty/staff/matriculated student with current HofstraCard, or Hofstra University Museum member.
Location: Rochelle and Irwin A. Lowenfeld Conference and Exhibition Hall, Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library 10th Floor, South Campus.
