Long Island Independent Higher Education Forum
The “Long Island Independent Higher Education Forum: Brainpower, Partnerships and Resources for Our Region” will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Hofstra University, University Club. The forum will highlight partnerships and provide an opportunity for exchanging ideas and networking for higher education, government, business and community leaders. Discussions will focus on further harnessing independent higher education’s community and workforce contributions for the economic and social good of the region.
More than 50,000 students enroll each year at independent, not-for-profit colleges and universities on Long Island. In total, our campuses directly employ 10,900 individuals and contribute $2.8 billion to the New York State economy annually. Along with their role as anchor tenants, Independent Sector campuses also are talent magnets, workforce and innovation catalysts and community partners.
