Labor Studies presents Charles Kernaghan: Will You Lose Your Job to Global Sweatshops? Comments

Hofstra's Labor Studies Center presents Charles Kernaghan who will speak on Will You Lose Your Job to Global Sweatshops?  As Director of the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, he is one of the best known and most articulate critics of child labor and other abusive working conditions in low-wage countries. He has appeared in over a dozen documentary films, including The Corporation anThe Awful Truth.

Apple, Wal-Mart, and many other U.S. companies have recently been criticized for unsafe working conditions, child labor and human rights abuses in their foreign factories.  Charles Kernaghan and his Institute for Global Labor & Human Rights have been a leading force in the fight to improve labor conditions here and abroad. Come hear him discuss their high-profile campaigns and the current global movement against outsourcing American jobs to foreign sweatshops.
