Provost's Diversity Lecture Series Comments

As we continue our commitment to increase diversity, I am pleased to invite you to attend this year's Provost's Diversity Lecture which will be presented by Nira Yuval-Davis, Sociologist and the Professor and the Director of the Research Center on Migration, Refugees and Belonging at the University of East London. She will address the subject: Intersectionality and the Politics of Belonging. Professor Yuval-Davis has written extensively on the Politics of Belonging.  In addition to citizenship and nationalism, she looks at religion, cosmopolitanism, the feminist "ethics of care" as well as the effects of globalization, mass migration, the rise of fundamentalism and the human rights movement.
