Free Tax Preparation (Sponsored by the Tax Society)
The VITA program prepares tax returns for free for low-income individuals. Both U.S citizens and international students may be eligible for free return preparation. To be eligible, a person must have made less than $49,000 in income in 2012, and there are certain limitations on the types of income VITA can cover. Please bring your Social Security card and photo ID, your 2011 tax return, and documents to support all income and potential deductions/credits. In addition, international students must have first started studying in the U.S. in 2011 or earlier, must bring a visa and passport, and must have information on the number of days they were in the U.S. from 2010 - 2012. This event will be recurring every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. till April 7th with the exception of March 24th and 30th.
