Hofstra Continuing Education Hosts Meetup on Media Literacy

Join Hofstra Continuing Education on Wednesday, April 26 at 6 p.m. for a free Meetup that focuses on Media Literacy, an essential 21st century skill. The Meetup takes place in Breslin Hall, Room 105.

Fake news, alternative facts … how do you make sense of it all? You can start by strengthening your media literacy skills. Whether you find information by Googling, reading a newspaper article, or watching a TV news report, it’s essential to understand where the messages are coming from and how to evaluate their veracity and possible bias. A panel of experts -- Hofstra professors Jeffrey Morosoff and Peter Goodman, and Fair Media Council Director Jaci Clement -- will help you navigate today’s rapidly-changing media world.

Date: Wednesday, April 26

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Location: Breslin Hall, Room 105

To RSVP, visit meetup.com/thriving-in-the-21st-century-workplace or call Betty Ann Friedfertig at 516-463-7139.
