Parent and Family Programs Tulip Tour and Tea
We cordially invite parents and families to attend our beautiful spring family event, Tulip Tour & Tea, just in time to celebrate mothers and grandmothers (Mother’s Day is May 14). In collaboration with Hofstra University Museum and the Grounds Department, our annual Tulip Tour and Tea will include access to Hofstra’s first building, Hofstra Hall, landscape design lectures by Patrice Dimino, an exhibit in the Emily Lowe Gallery of the Hofstra University Museum, and tours of Hofstra's arboretum and outdoor sculptures with tulips at their peak, led by Fred Soviero, director of the grounds, and Nancy Richner, Hofstra University Museum education director. The first tour starts at 12 noon.
Families are also invited to enjoy a variety of teas and sweets while attending the always-fascinating photographic history of Hofstra lecture by Geri Solomon, Hofstra archivist. If the weather is nice, you will be able to view Hofstra’s campus as well as most of the Long Island (and even have a glimpse of Manhattan) from the 10th floor of the Axinn Library.
Don't miss Hofstra's campus at its most beautiful! The cost for this family event is $10 per family member, free for Hofstra students. Please register here. If you have questions, please contact Parent and Family Programs at 516-463-4698 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
