National Public Health Week
Join the School of Health Professions and Human Services, the Master of Public Health Program and the Society of Public Health Advocates (SOPHA) for a celebration of “Healthiest Nation 2030,” which focuses on a growing
movement to create the healthiest nation in one generation.
Academic seminars include topics such as noncommunicable diseases, animal health, global health, and health systems management. Other activities include a student film competition, minority health fair, health promotion tabling, and a 5K fun run by the Society of Public Health Advocates.
National Public Health Week continues with VOICE Day 2017 on April 4, an event focused on issues that affect at-risk populations. The theme for the day is “Addressing the Quarter-Life Crises: Strengthening Youth and Young Adults.” There will be a community education fair, informational workshops and speakers, and professional development seminars for practitioners who work with populations of young adults up to age 25.
