Baseball vs. Manhattan -- Cancelled
This game is cancelled. The Hofstra University Baseball team will look to get back in the win column Tuesday afternoon when it hosts Manhattan College at University Field. Game time is set for 3 p.m. The Pride (6-16) is coming off a weekend series at College of Charleston that saw them win one of three games. The Pride picked up a 2-1 win in the series opener but dropped the last two contests, 12-1 and 4-2. The Pride also had a victory at NYIT last week, prior to the series in Charleston.
Steven Foster and Mikey Riesner continue to pace the Hofstra offense with Foster leading the team with a .319 average and seven doubles. Riesner is right behind with a .315 average and a team-best 17 RBIs. Chris Weiss has two victories on the mound and a 2.37 ERA in eight appearances. Brad Witkowski will get the start for the Pride. The senior is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in five appearances.
Manhattan enters the game with a 5-13 mark, having won two straight games against Niagara this past weekend. The Jaspers are led by Evan Brown's .388 average and eight RBIs. Fabian Pena has a .328 average and seven doubles, while Brendan Bisset is batting .302 with seven RBIs. Joey Rocchietti leads the pitching staff with a 1-2 record and a 3.86 ERA in four starts. Marc Galvan, who will get the start for Manhattan, is 1-1 with a 3.75 ERA in eight appearances.
