The Gray Wig Alumni Theater presents Our Town
The Gray Wig is proud to bring Our Town, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play written by Thornton Wilder, to the Hofstra community for our first production in the Black Box Theater.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of Our Town. The plot follows the residents of the small town of Grover’s Corners through three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage,” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and experience life together. Each and every audience member will surely connect to the human spirit that pervades this classic tale.
Hofstra’s 200-seat Black Box Theater, located at the University’s New Academic Building, South Campus, is the ideal venue for Our Town. The intimate atmosphere will allow audience members to lose themselves in this timeless drama.
