Political Slant II: Editorial Cartoons

In conjunction with the 2016 national presidential election this original exhibition features current works by award-winning editorial cartoonists and highlights their take on our current national political election process, candidates, and key issues. We will feature editorial cartoons from political cartoonists from around the country including Pulitzer Prize winner, Walt Handelsman formerly of Newsday. Political Slant II: Editorial Cartoons focuses on topics such as Presidential Elections, Education, Economy, War, and Civil Rights. The exhibition also includes works by Thomas Nast from the late 19th century illustrating the history of editorial cartoons. 

Funding support has been provided by New York Community Bank Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts.

 

Political Slant II: Editorial Cartoons exhibition runs from October 4, 2016 - March 12, 2017.

Location: David Filderman Gallery, Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, Ninth Floor, South Campus

Hofstra University Museum David Filderman Gallery Hours:

Tuesday - Friday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, noon - 4 p.m. 

Galleries are closed during installations, holidays and University recesses.

Please be aware, when attending events during the school year, when classes are in session, parking is often limited on South Campus to faculty and students. There is additional parking available on North Campus, approximately a 10-minute walk from Adams Playhouse, through the Student Center and over the unispan. Thank you for your cooperation.
