Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day
President Stuart Rabinowitz, Provosot and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Herman Berliner and Vice President for Student Affairs Sandra S. Johnson are pleased to announce this year's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, April 25, 2013. This year's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day theme, "Work in Progress," suggests that an even bigger and brighter future is ahead for all our nation's daughters and sons. It reminds our youth to be brave as they dream seemingly impossible dreams, explore new challenges, and attain the success they have always hoped for in education, work, home, and in their communities.
Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day, designed to be more than a career day, goes beyond the average "shadow" an adult. The day strives to expose girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life, and providing them an opportunity to share how they envision the future and begin steps toward their end goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success.
Refreshments, hands-on activities, and a chance to take a photo with Kate and Willy in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs in 200 Phillips Hall, South Campus, from 10 a.m. to noon.
